Later after printing the photo I was listening to public radio I heard the comment that ” there is a real dilemma in Iraq – We can’t leave – We can’t stay ”
As a poster designer with a national reputation who hasn’t designed a poster in 20 years – I knew what I needed to do with this powerful photo – make a poster to help people to understand the situation we are in: After showing the poster to my friends and their friends via internet. I have found that there are many different views and opinions to the question – What is the message of the poster ?
Mikki and I thought there is a great teaching here in this ‘ natural dilemma. ‘ In Nature there is no judgment there are only consequences. To teach this notion we wrote a book about Brother Hawk and Brother Snake and their dilemma. It is titled Hawk & Snake: The Dilemma and will be published by our new publishing company WILDNESS BOOKS.
As an public artist I think of a quote from Edgar Daga the great impressionist painter, he said :
“Art is not what you see but what you make others See “
It is my intention not to make a judgment – only pose the question and get people to VOTE O8
The poster will be included in an on line gallery an on view in a traveling exhibition: Beginning in May ‘08
